I've worked with Bonnie at GRS for over five years as she helped my parents and me understand our options for their care. GSR has been an invaluable resource working with my Dad in his initial stages of cognitive decline. I live 2.5 hours away, and Dad lived alone. Over the last 5 years, Marian and Bonnie worked closely with him and me to coordinate appointments and follow-up with Doctors when Dad wasn't able to. They checked in monthly to keep eyes and ears on Dad to make sure his condition was stable and he was living his best life. It all culminated in January 2026 when he had multiple TIAs (mini-strokes). I was several states away when I discovered the event, and I called Marian and she was by his side at his home with the fire department in less than 15 mins. Then she was at his side in the hospital for hours while I made my way to Greenville. She sat with a scared 83 year old in a crazy ER so he wasn't alone, communicating with me the entire time. She helped me find a short term rehab for him during an incredibly stressful physical event during an ice storm and then a snow storm... both a week apart. She helped me advocate for him moment-to-moment. To me, that's priceless. They truly became family friends. If you have a loved one who is a senior and living alone, GSR can be worth their weight in gold to help communicate both with Drs and between the senior and family; eyes and ears on scene regularly to monitor for changes when family can't be there. They helped determine the time for assisted living and actively participated in that very complicated conversation with Dad as a trusted friend. Geriatric Care Managers, and Geriatric Resource Services in particular, are a newer concept to help individuals and families at a distance to maintain their independence and manage the complications life presents. I recommend Bonnie and her team enthusiastically.
